How to program your 2010 to not shut down when opening door after remote start

The 6 button powercode remote start and alarm will shut the engine down if you open the door after remote starting.

He is the fix, I found it somewhere else. It's nice doing stuff yourself that the dealer tells you it cant be done.

open the drivers door
turn on the ignition
hold the program/override button for 15 sec (horn will chirp 3 times)
press the override button again horn will chirp 4 times
" " horn will chirp 5 times
" " horn will chirp 6 times
" " horn will chirp 7 times
" " horn will chirp 8 times letting you know you are in option bank 5.
press the panic button on the fob horn will chirp once
" " chirp twice
" " chirp three times
" " chirp 4 times
" " chirp 5 times
press the lock button on the fob once...your led alarm light will now be off.

Turn off the ignition
you are done

Enjoy

Activate the remote start open the door(smile) just don't press the brake before you put key in ignition and turn.

I have the actual Ford tech files based on the new 2010 My-Key that lists all of the option bank settings, much easier to follow than those text instructions you pasted above. as I posted before, anyone can email me through my profile and I'll email you the files, I have them both for the 1-button rmst and the 6-button rmst/alarm system.

very good, that's it. I never used an online file uploader before. You should post up the 1-button rmst programming options too since many guys have the 1-button system as a factory installed accessory.

good job. Here are the direct links to the 2010 programming files and you'll see the highlighted My-key options where you have to just simply change the option bank setting for "shutdown on door open".

1-button rmst system:
http://documents.codesystems.com/710620.pdf

6-button rmst and alarm system:
http://documents.codesystems.com/710617.pdf

(the highlighted non-Mykey options in those files are for the 2009 and earlier systems. So for example, you can change the run time of your rmst like I did for my 09 system)

little help here

SO I went thru all of this, and 1: my LED does not light up for anything, and two I got to bank 2, opition 7 and hit my button. And 2: Now I hit my button for the remote start, and the truck honks, doors locks, all the lights come on and then my horn chrips 4 times. Tried it two different times, can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Thanks for your time.

This a 1-button system? Not sure why the LED isn't lighting up. Sounds like you may have held the rmst button too long and reset the options. 4 beeps means the Tach is not programmed. The system for our trucks runs tachless, so make sure the tachless feature is enabled in Bank 2, Option 1.

kurtg3026 let me know what you find out because I had exact same thing happen as you did. No led light would ever come on, and now when I go to remote start it, it acts like it is getting ready to start and I get 4 beeps. Thanks for any help!

^yeah, look in that file I posted, you can turn off the horn honk in Option Bank 2, No. 6.

I also stress to make sure you carefully read the programming instructions before making any changes. Otherwise, you might end up with a non-working system like the guys above posted. Usually that's caused by accidently reseting all of the options by holding the button in too long, but then is usually fixed by switching the Tach Mode to tachless (the rest of the default settings work with our truck).

I don't know why their LED lights are not working. My only suggestion is to look at the LED light and trace its wires back to the main harness to see if the LED wires/plug is actually plugged in.
