ok looking at swaping to a 460 from a 360FE. Current truck is a 1974 f150 4x4, 4" suspension lift, 3" body lift. 37" tires, 5.13 gears, rear spool front open. d44 and ford 9" rear.
Ok so plans is to take this engine from a 1976 lic cont. and a c6 which comes with a transpak to put in. and Make it a budget build for a mud bogger truck engine. so in keeping the cost low while making lots of power while keeping it reliable to keep cost low.
I know some of those conflict. but in thinking about those how should i build this engine, as fas as i know he siad it needs to be honed. what other machine work should be done? what carbs, cams, intake, rockers, let me know what you think or what you have done. looking for help thanks
square deck the block and try to get the pistons to within .010 of the top (better quench) I would port atleast the exhaust side of the heads and probably put in the larger 1.71 cj valves (be sure and put in new hardened seats)
