Will a modded diesel pass emissions in Colorado?

Just saw that next year I will have to do an emssions test up here in Northern, CO. Question is, will a modified diesel even pass emissions? Im hoping that since I have an 01, maybe I wont even have to do a test, but from what I read, it sure sounds like it.

If you've got a stock tune (stock fueling for single shots) you'll pass no problem. Living in the Denver metro area I've had to do emissions testing on my PSD since I moved here 4 years ago. Never had a problem passing. Even tested several times in a 40 hp tow tune, and passed with flying colors.

Here's a video of Mike (Blowby) dyno'ing 590 hp on his emissions tune. He passed Colorado emissions last October with this exact setting. LOL

Holy cow! Did you see that truck lift when he stomped on it?!?!?!?! I had to get mine E. Tested when I bought mine. I go to Diesel Performance off of Pine Ln and Parker Rd.. down here in Parker. Tom is a good guy(owner). I THINK he would pass anyone as long as everything is legal with your truck.

I used to test at some hole-in-the-wall shop in Denver. I passed even with the chip in.

No problemo.

If you like that, you should love this one. This is the dyno run where he broke the 1000 hp mark.

I can't wait for Bandimere to open for the season. You and Rich should come join us and watch him run his truck. Should be interesting this year.

He lives in Boulder, and I think that was PFI up in Ft. Collins where he dyno'ed his truck.

As for racing, you betcha. The Colorado Powerstroke Club hits up the track from time to time on Wednesday nights on for "Test 'n Tune". We're also there for Ford Fest and Truck Fest each year.

Yep, 7.3L. Motor built by WOP, Kai did the turbos, and some really big Swamps injectors. Blowby does his own tuning.

He did a few shakedown runs at the end of last year, and ran mid 11's on fuel only. He did this on all-terrains too.

So I'm excited for this year as he's getting everything dialed in, and should be making runs with lots of nitrous. Plus, Mike is a really really nice guy in person too.

Truck fest is the bigger of the two events. Truck Fest is actually several events over a weekend. They have the Cummins Rocky Mountain Diesel drag races, then they also have the ATS Truck Fest. The Cummins event is Saturday, and the ATS event is Sunday. They also have truck pulls on Sunday, as well as drag racing. They've also had rock crawling events too. So lots to do and see.

I went to that place the last couple of years with my truck and had no problems. I set my DP to stock and away it goes. Now, another member here, Andrew, had issues with them because of his exhaust set up. They told him he needed a cat which we did not remove one when we installed his exhaust. He ended up going somewhere else in Parker for his e-test and it passed.

Wild stuff. Andrew is a good kid. I know him personally as well. He comes into my work quite a bit. I work off of Lincoln and Jordon. I never knew he had issues with Toms shop.

Truck Fest will have to be a must see this year I think. I dont drink anymore, but Ill sure toss back a few iced tea's or a sprite or two with ya'll. Come by sometime Chris, I'd like to meet ya Im right next to Wendys.
