Last night I finished up swapping the oil bath air cleaner to a paper element, so today I took advantage of some beautiful north Florida weather and got to install one of my favorite add ons. It always makes me smile when I put the car seat in. This was my daughter's first ride in the truck for any amount of time. We've done a few laps around the neighborhood but today we headed around town running errands. Both my son (now seven) and my daughter (four going on fourteen) are in love with the truck and just love being in and around it. Later in the evening I snuck away and took a few pictures behind the hospital as the day faded away.

1972 trucks had the same identical bed, as we said in another thread, only the fenders were higher. Ford stopped making flaresides, If we can call them that when the tops were a 90 degree angle and not flared, after 1972 for a few years but brought them back in maybe 76. But then they had the flat bedside tops. Plus the gas filler hole was in the driver side fender. I will have to check Mr. Wagner's Ford Truck book for exact years.
I checked Mr. Google instead of running upstairs... lol. here is the link: The History Of The Ford F-Series In The 20th Century
Their page says Ford made a Flareside in 1976. Pics:
