I always intended to do the caution stripes. I even painted them on at one point, but didn't like how it looked--too bright and (bumblebee like). My paint job was poor too. Quite awhile ago I picked up some reflective tape with the intention of using it to make the stripes, but I'm hesitating to pull the trigger. I liked the faded original look, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for bright and new.
Gigger, that's how my truck looked when we went to get it from my Mom's house in 2012. We added the bungee cord in hopes it would keep the hood from flying up on the 150 mile trip to my Son's house. The little patch job on the left fender is some of my work from when I was a teenager. I remember very distinctly pounding in the edges of the rusted area, spreading out the fiberglass cloth, and filling in with bondo. Fifty some years out, and it still seems to be holding up. LOL.
Thanks, Bob. Two clean '49s. Neither one adorned with the usual crap we see many of them sporting. And, the hood down on both. Amazing.
Edit: Who parked that red truck, Bob? Come on now, don't blame Michelle

No she won't even drive it out of the driveway. I'm proud to be the sole driver 😊
Got the frame back apart and painted after suspension build...the new brakes came in as well as the motor mounts that are made for the CV conversion. Should be rebuilt and going back together soon...now...351W...or 390 FE....hmmmmm.
