my truck has an open diff do the xlt crew have lockers for low range and if so can it be used out of low range? if not what brands are reliable limited slip (was thinking detroit tru trac)
the xlt did not come with a locker.....the fx4 had an avialable locker however it was lo range only....tru trac is a good ls and i've used eaton posi's before with very good results....
thanks do you have a ball park price (or hour amount) it cost to have installed, i thought mine may have some kind of ls or locker because when in 4 wheel drive if i pull onto a patch of black top it will cherp the tires when i turn untill i take out of 4 wheel

Do not use 4WD on pavement unless you want to pay for the locker AND a new front differential.
yeah i know (i dont like the cherp sound) but in snow or mud if i take it out before i get on black top i just burn rear tires i live in no va and we got a stupid amount of snow this year (most ever recorded)
thats what i figured i cant wait to get mine but i just dropped $1300 on wheels and tires so it has to wait for now (and if i get a tru-trac in the rear it wont be long before i need tires again)
