Actually we both do. time to convert. I have the OEM door panels cause I like the factory look, also have the factory switches. Utilizing all OEM looks painfull, what with having to buy new window regulators, motors and then a harness. Anybody familiar with these aftermarket kits? best experiences.

I need a 4 window kit.

I bought one of these for my buddies chebby 3 months ago, its been working flawlessly since, seems to be good quality. Might look them up on ebay for the ford versions.

Have you tried craigslist to find someone parting out a crewcab? I'll keep an eye out in the Denver(ish) area for you if you like. You're probably looking at buying all 4 doors then, but if it was off a white truck, you might be able to just swap them out and then sell yours.

 

Good luck. I've seen the aftermarket power windows installed on a 98 Dodge half ton and a 2004 F150. Both different brands, both dealer installed, and both had nothing but problems after about 9 months.

 

Possibly look into the Dorman replacement regulators and motors, they are pretty affordable compared to dealer stuff, and I've installed dozens of them without any comebacks.

he still has all 4 doors presently, they are power windows & locks, but the front passenger door has a dent so that regular *might* be toast....

That is a great price for complete doors. I just bought a set of power doors myself, not so complete though, wiring is missing. Good luck with the swap. let us know how it goes.

Exactly Jim, exactly. All I'm doing is keeping it going. From all the help I've received.... that's just how things are done around here, and how it should be done.

Barney - I pick up the doors & window tomorrow @ 7AM. I'll keep them in the basement until you come to collect. I'll have a look at the dented door and see how much grief it'd be to pull the guts out & put back in so we can guesstimate time to completion.

As for where to park your rig, call me when you're a week out from being here and we'll see what we can sort out.

I really want you to use those yellow door handles....
