running premium over regular is the same principle just less extreme...with all the sensors and crap they cram into these things there will be something to correct it and lean it out...i think next fill up (if i remember) ill throw a gallon of diesel in and see what happens...i have a 16 gallon tank so i should be able to get that and another gallon of diesel so 16:1 ratio should be good
I can get 17-18 in a fill. I was thinking this might be worth a try, especially in winter. Since gasoline is less potent in the winter.
The average energy content in the summer for gasoline is 114,500 BTU, but in winter it is only 112,500 BTU. So if you add one gallon of diesel (16 gas, 1 diesel), you go up by 1000 BTU per gallon. Add 2 gallons of diesel (15gas, 2 diesel) now you are back up to 114,500 BTU .
I thought running premium made the gas less likely to detonate. I didn't know it had more BTU than regular gas .

neither did i, i was just throwing that out there LOL...all i know is my truck runs reg the same as premium so why spend the extra...especially when reg is so stupidly over priced already...and diesel...basically all the crap they cant put into gas is even more...figure that out stupid gas companies and gooberment taxes
I don't know why diesel is more expensive, The only thing I can figure is supply and demand. Diesel is more popular now? I dunno.
I will say, I think that these guys that save their grease or have stills in their garage to turn their garbage into fuel might not be so nutty after all.
hahaha yeah mobile production plant...sell it on the street corner for 1/2 what the station does XD...make my truck a giant black rain coat and some huge dark shady sunglasses too
