I have a 1999 F250 SD with the 5.4. It has 146000 rounds and I had to park it. Its still runs but I dont want to push my luck. My question is, where is a good place to get a complete rebuild kit? I have many other questions, but lets just start there.

 

We need more information to answer that question. What is wrong? Are you just wanting to rebuild due to mileage? Is it not running properly? Welcome to the MN forum by the way.

As Jay said, why the need for a rebuild? 146K isn't much for a 5.4. These engines seem pretty tough, most lasting 250K-350K or more with little or no problems causing a need to rebuild them.

It looks like the cam/lifters are not included in most kits, available separately. I'm guessing these engines have roller cams/lifters. Also, head bolts will most likely be needed, and possibly rod bolts. I'm sure the head bolts are TTY(torque-to-yield) meaning they are only good for one use.
