I have run double silicone lifetime wires from autozone as long as i have owned my truck and run motorcraft plugs. ran bosch platinums b4 and they were ok as well.
Autolite 46's (next step hotter than stock), and modified used Accel wires, DUI distributor. Stock Advance Auto wires burned out in about 2 months. Oh, .060" gap too.
Jared's got it right, though. The stock motorcrafts and the standard autolites don't seem to stand up to the higher voltages (so don't even think of putting in generics). I had a set of Borg-Warner NASCAR blue 8mm wires after the MSD coil upgrade. That was over 50K miles ago and they were in truck when I sold it. No cracks. I used Autolite Platinum AP-46 plugs gapped at .055".
