Need Tire/Lift help please....

Alright so i know i have been posting a lot of these threads lately, but i need help deciding what to do. The situation is that i really want to do the 6inch in the front and 3 inch in the rear Pro Comp lift since it is 2wd. There is a thread on here of a guy running that same set up on a 2wd with 35x12.5/16's and it looks awesome. That kit recommends to run 35 inch tires which would be perfectally fine however, but the rims i am buying are only 6 inches wide and i take it you cant run a 12.5 inch wide tire on a 6 inch rim and nobody seems to make a 35 inch tire that is any narrower. So i just got off the phone with the guy and he recommended using a 285/75/17 which is a 34 inch tall tire by 11 inches wide.

My question is, will a 34 inch tire look to small for that lift??? I dont want to get that lift with the 34 inch tall tires and have it look like the tires are to small...... Should i just got with the 4/2 inch fab tech lift and get those tires, or will it look alright with the 6/3 pro comp lift with the 34 inch tires???

Here is a picture of a 2wd lifted 6/3 inches with 35x12.5's for comparison....

Opinions needed please!!!

It's going to be a judgment call really. A 285 isn't 34inces tall either it's more like a 31 or 32. 305's are closer to a 33. 315's are close to a 35 and there is a big difference going from a 305 to a 315. I think a 285 is going to look too small for that size lift.

235 refers to the width of the tread, the 85 is the percent of width the sidewall height measures. If you go with a 285/75 you might get to 34 inches tire height, most 285's are a 70 series tire which is much smaller than a 315/70.

Good info Jason, I did not know that man, always wondered what those numbers meant. Yeah I plan on going with the 285/75.

I have the 285-75-16 on 10" wide rims and the rub with only a leveling kit. They measure out at 32" on the truck. 4" Lift is sitting in my living room.
