15inch rims on 88-97 f-350 axles

so is it possible to fit 15inch rims on this year of axles...if seen gm guys trim the front calipers on gm dana 60 axles to fit the rim....can the same be done to the ford dana60? i know it has a 8x165.1 aka 8x6.5 bolt pattern. I heard from a guy that i off-road with that apparently there’s a kit out there to change the calipers for smaller ones.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
Now for the back end iv bean told that 15inch rims will fit wit no mods...is that true of pure myth??and I don’t mind doing mods, if I have to go to rear disk brake if that’s an option.<o></o>
<o></o>
because I have a set of 38inch mudboggers that are new from last summer and they take 15inch rims.....scince am converting my jeep to ford axles and don’t want to have to replace my new rubbers.<o></o>
<o></o>
any help slah info will be greatly apresheated<o></o>

thx sebas

you have to trim ALOT off the calipers and your locks wont stay in place after youve done that, i went down that road. but if you can find a set of rims with 2.5" backspacing that would be your best bet. i know pro comp sells em for about 110 a piece cad

Generally they make the calipers that big for a reason, and that was so you could stop these heavy things, and that meant using big rotors and a beefy caliper.I don't recommend it,your gonna be there for days grinding and not to mention you lose all the practicality of your caliper,it will pretty much be useless and a lot weaker.

ya am gona use the axles under a jeep yj so the veacole isnt gona whay way less then the f350..so a backspacing of 2.5inch and maby spacers might do it. so am gona call my 4x4 shop twomorow and see what i can get as a rim with 2.5inch of backspacing or more.

Do not grind on the calipers, they can flex as is, so if you grind them and then at some point decided to hydroboost the thing you may easily split them. IIRC there were some 8-lug Ford trucks that came with 15" wheels, but I never found solid info on dimensions of said wheels...
