Do I need to run shock boots?

I was just wandering if I should or shouldn't run shock boots. I have icon shocks all the way around and the are mounted in the upside down postion. Except my dual steering stabilizers. I have boots on all of them now but some people say to take them off cause dirt and crap is getting inside them plus I live in colorado and the winter roads have a ton of salt and magnizeum chloride on them.

In my opinion, I wouldn't because the bootstrap moisture and the the shock tubes start to rust.
