Those are peak numbers and don't tell the whole story. Need to see the curves before you get mad. If the torque numbers are higher than others at lower rpm, then it will be a very good and useable engine.
My 6.2 GM has higher numbers and I use it once and a blue-moon while towing, but 97% of the time I wish GM would have tuned it to have better lower-rpm response. My 6.2GM does not live at 4500rpm, but it does live at 2000rpm, and it's pretty dead around there. My bet is Ford did just that, and we'll wait and see when the curves are out.

The 6.2l has higher hp and torque at all rpms than the 5.4l 3V but not the 6.8l 3V. Read the "Ask the Engineer" thread in the SD section. If I remember correctly the 6.2l makes 80% of its torque around 1500-2k rpm. If your buying a 6.2l SD don't get the 3.73 gears. Wish Ford would have got rid of 3.73s in the SD for the gassers, they suck.

Curves are out, have been for a week. Torque at 1K rpms looks just like the 5.4.

P.S. your 6.2 is slow at low RPMs due to emissions. Buy HP tuners and you'll knock off at least .5 sec from your 1/4 mile time. GM left a lot of the table of the 6.2 in my book

I'm not dissapointed in the numbers what so ever. If I was in a need of a super duty right now I would be thrilled with the 6.2L. But when I do need a truck in the next 5 years or more. Probably by then the 6.2L will make over 400hp and 450tq. I would love to buy a King ranch f-350 CC 4X4 with 4.30's with the 6.2L.

Ford builds one dissapointing engine after another with no end in sight.

Why build a 6.2 in a 2V configuration? That's caveman technology similar to the 5.4.

A 2 OHC with 4 Valves would offer more of everything I'm looking for in an engine.

Because it leaves a lot of room for growth. The wider bore spacing allows for bigger valves even in a 2-valve configuration. So there isn't as much of a "need" to go DOHC 4-valve in the modulars.

It would, however, be a good way to increase the low-end-torque - go two smaller intake valves/runners, and shut one off during low RPMs.

Have you seen what GM and Chrysler have done with that "Caveman" technology?

Both GM and Chrysler were tetering on the edge of bankrupcy only to be bailed out by us citizens. Their vehicles sell so well.

GM vehicles sell well enough that they still outsell Ford, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Volkswagen, Jeep, Subaru and every other automaker in the US month after month

That had more to do with their management/executives than it did overall sales. But this is not the place to discuss this.

Carry on with the 6.2 discussion

Should I order a 2011 F-250 cc 4x4 with a 3.73 or 4.30 rear? I tow a 9000lb travel trailer 30ft. about 2-3 times a year.

Steel 6.2 stroker crank

Need to get a steel stoker crank shaft to hold the RPM's and horsepower ! I am willing to pay the price for 1000 HP +.. It's all in the heart of the 6.2 engine.
