So I'll be the first: Will the front grille from an '08-'10 fit the '11 hood? I might just have to swap them when I get the new truck.

As for the power numbers, makes me happy but the real saving grace should be the 6sp transmission. I think my 6.4 with the 6sp would be just fine too.

I can't wait to drive one!

will be interesting to see how this new motor shakes out. Big plus is cab on repairs. Article out on pickuptrucks.com today as well.

Might have to get one after it has been out for a year or so, never know.

Good numbers I just thought it would have been over 400 and 750 but hopefully it will be a solid motor for many years

If I can find where I read it I'll post it, but they're already working on another version for the next level of emissions.

numbers

i read on another forum, that a person heard that the numbers are not in stone, they might change because of chevy.
They upped the towing to 21600 with f350. I thought it was 17,700

they want to put the smack down on chevy no matter what...chevy increased there towing to 20,000k 5th wheel, they beat them by 1600lbs. and they want to smach them around on the power too!

I would of like them to set the 400hp mark also. But I hope they have designed the most reliable diesel to be on the market. That will steal sales from Chevy and Dodge faster then Numbers.

The Ford F350 has a higher payload than that place says, look at these

Ford Announces 2011 F-Series Super Duty Power and Pulling Specs - PickupTrucks.com News

2011 Ford Super Duty power, towing specs released — Autoblog

These places are saying 6520 pounds not 6250 pounds. Just something I thought I should point out.

These are interesting numbers since it means that the torque curve must be dead flat from 1600 RPM to 2800 RPM (horsepower = Torque * RPM/5252), thus 390 hp at 2800 rpm calculates to 731 lbs torque at 2800. It also means that the torque rise is essentially 0 (Peak Torque - Rated Torque / Rated Torque = Torque Rise X 100). The significance of that finding is unclear to me from a performance standpoint for a light duty pickup truck - if someone can explain it to me that would be appreciated.!

Jfritz_drfritz, first, welcome to the forums. Second, I'd say that this is a good thing for a "light" duty pickup because you'll get a solid pull when breaking a load loose as well as being able to maintain speed when pulling a load up a hill. If the torque fell off at speed like many motors do, then highway towing would suffer from speed loss, which is something that consumers, especially those used to driving without towing a load, find excessively undesirable.

I'm dissapointed with the towing numbers for the SRW trucks. The GCVWR of the DRW trucks increased from 23500 to 29000 pounds, a whopping 5500 pound increase in towing that blows away Chevy's 27500 pound rating, but when you look at the SRW trucks they only increased a measly 500 pounds, from 23000 to 23500. Looks like Chevy caught Ford off-guard with their new SRW models which can now tow almost 2000 pounds more than the Ford. I'm a die hard Ford fan and I really hope they answer back by increasing the rating of the SRW trucks to 26000 pounds, this would be exactly what I need to pull my 40' toy hauler.

RadRick, I want Ford to be on top in every way as well but if I was going to tow a trailer that weighed more than 18K I'd get a dually anyway. I am assuming that the truck would be around 8K loaded, so, 8k for the truck + 18K for the trailer = 26K. I have put a 14-16K 5th wheel behind my 250 and it does the job but I don't do it more than a few times/year.
