to turn on PM service.
Go to user CP
On left side go down to "Edit Options"
Scroll down the page to "Messaging And Notification"
The 3rd blocked off section is for Private messaging. Put a check mark in the receive private messages and a check park in any other option you want like receive email when private message comes in.
I think you need 10 or 15 posts before you can use the PM feature.
