E99 shaking and now no power.

Hey guys i need some help. yesterday i was going up a hill with my foot in it so i could merge, and my truck just started shaking. the SES light came on also. then after that i had no power and i couldn't really get much boost. if i put it in neutral i would rev up just fine all the way to 3000, and i can still drive it but i have to keep the rpms below 2000 and there is not very much power.

just as a side note about 2 to 3 weeks ago i took it to ford and they put in a new injector in the #5 hole and replaced my IPS sensor and harness plug. they also did the CPS and Speed sensor recall.

i don't know if that has anything to do with this but im just trying to figure out where to start. when i get home from work i am going to ohm out the UVCH, but after that im kinda lost.

Thanks for any help.
Jeron

Clogged in tank fuel filters. That what happened on mine. The engine would work fine under low load, but on steep grades I was crawling at 30 mph.
Start wit replacing main fuel filter and if that doesn't help -go to the tank.

I have already done the in tank mods so I don't have the filters in the tank anymore. I will check the pre filter and the main filter when I get home. Does anyone have any other thoughts

Sounds like classic UVH problem. Did Ford update, install, the locking tabs for the harnesses under the valve covers? If you know someone with a code reader, get the codes and post the results. This will go a long way.

Wasn't that 46 cents mod?
Than wouldn't that affect high rpm on neutral?

Well I hope inflation isn't eroding our $$$ that fast LOL. Must be the cash for microwave program.

As far as the revving in neutral, you really wouldn't feel the miss nearly as bad because most of it would be absorbed by the TC and the motor mounts. While underway, once the TC locks, now the engine has a direct coupling to the pavement out back, and you certainly feel any irregular application of power. That's why I thought my TC was checking out the first time I had a UVH problem, under 37mph, the engine was "sluggish", but seemed to run ok, but over 37mph (when the TC was locked), felt like something was shaking apart.

Just do it...lol...you'll be impressed with the smoothness, and the return of power...

and since the drivers side has to be taken apart, go ahead and knockout that CCV mod too, you will definately be glad you did it...

I find it amusing when an OP asks a question, gets answers, and then questions the answers...i, too, am guilty of this...i guess we are all just doubters...lol...i am learning how to just take the advice of these fine FTE, smart folk, so my truck runs again...and guess what, i have not been let down yet...

Nothing to do with inflation. You just have to cut 2 cents worth off the quarter

Ohming things out sounds like the right next step. Did they put in a new or rebuilt injector? Engine oil level still good, or is it low?

Ya it was a reman. And the oil and stuff is fine. I'm going to ohm it then check the fuel filters then my fuel pressure. If all that checks out ok I'll be back to post an update and see what yall think

Put it in park. Hit the gas full throttle.

Watch your tach. See if the needle jumps at 2k.. it will hop a bit to 2300rpm.

This is a good little test to see in you got a bad injector. Most dealerships suck at testing injector issues..

I got 6 ford factory injectors in my sock drawer cuz they were such trash.. get some casserly injectors and you will be much better off..

If it is indeed an injector issue.. Keep us updated and good luck
