Headers on a van?

I posted this in the exhaust forum but it might make more sense here.

I have a 1988 E250 van w/351 FI auto drivertrain.
Does anyone know of a set of long tube or shorty headers (Prefered) that will fit this chassis? I can cut and weld steel pipes and I've even make a couple of headers for two different 4 cyl race cars so if something has to be modified, fine. I just would like to know where and how much going in.

How different is a van chassis from the pickup of that year. Both have the twin I-beam. It seems to me it's more a matter of where the engine is located in relation to the main crossmember.

I have some Pacesetter 70-2221 long tube headers on my 1992 E350 with the 351 and I am quite pleased. These come with the EGR bung on the passenger header and an o2 sensor port in both. You can see in the pictures the custom work that was done to connect them to a single 3" exhaust (+ cat & muffler). Mine were also ceramic coated after the rest of the exhaust was done, which is why it is all the same gray color.

I did have to modify the doghouse a bit where one of the primaries passes through a bit, but that was fairly simple.

I highly recommend using the Earl's Performance aluminum gaskets and Stage 8 locking hardware (not shown in the pics - I learned the hard way )

i don't have a 351, i have a 460 and i used doug thorley headers on my '95 E350. i am very pleased with them as it has been 10+ years now that they have been in use. they were not cheap, but they have held up just fine. never a leak and they have been off twice - i just did what the instructions told me to do which was "retorque after the first hour, then day then week then month. then once a year." my van also has a single cat with one 2.5" inlet and outlet. the headers feed into a piece of 3.5" tubing which was welded to the cat. the cat is like a piece of big tubing with a "funnel" on the inlet and outlet ends. we just cut back the funnel until the inlet would accept the 3.5 pipe. same on the outlet except 3". there was no honeycomb in the two "funnels" and the cat body is like 8" in diameter... of course ymmv

i found the improvement in performance/mileage well worth the expense. i would like to have been able to purchase them either porcelinized or, better still, made of stainless to reduce radiated heat.

Thanks for the replies but it seems to me that your newer van/doghouse set up is different then on my '88 which means what you used most likely will not work on mine.

i've got a set of Dynomax ceramic coated 1-1/2" primaries on my '82 w/400.
(see my gallery for model #) I know the OP's engine is different, but the body/frame is the same. I had to try 3 different sets before we found some that would work without too much modification (these required only a slightly flattening near your right foot on one pipe). And this was with the engine out, but the body still on. ( must be nice to have the body off for that sort of stuff...)
