e4od wiring

I have a '95 f250 4x4 5.8l w/ e4od
The trans went on it, so I found a replacement on craigslist. As far as I was told it is a rebuilt '95 e4od.

My mechanic is in the process of installing the rebuilt, he called and said that the plug on the trucks wiring does not match up to the plug on the trans. I believe it's the plug for the solenoid pack. It is located on the passenger side of the trans just above the fluid pan.

He said it has the same # of pins in basically the same layout, but the body of the connector is a slightly different shape.

Can he just modify the plug to fit? Or is the pinout different? I wonder if I got bad/incorrect info about this rebuilt trans....
