Check down here in Jersey south of Trenton. We have a ton of 08's and 09's floating around for great numbers. I got my 08' Supercab Larait 4x4 loaded with on 27k on her and picked it up for $30,000 out the door. Try Holman Ford Mount Laurel, Winner Ford, Miller Ford, and Medford Ford. I see that your in New York so it would not be a long trip to get a shot at a good truck market. And to boot, if you find something I could always put my eyes on it for you, I am local to all these dealers. Good Luck!!

an 09/10 will be ok. Late 08 would as well. Just take a real good look at it. ask to see the oasis report if you are getting it from a dealer.

Get an OASIS no matter where it comes from. There is a guy on here that can get it for you. Get a Carfax as well. I bought my 08 from a truck wholesaler in Dallas. It had 49K on it. Flew up and drove it home. It's been fine except for a few trips to the dealer for obvious recall issues. Nothing major. It's an early 2007 Job 1 truck so it's expected.

Prices have come down since I bought mine too so you should be able to get a good deal.

Read the "Ford Cancelled My Warranty Today" thread! The poor guy got shafted bad up in Canada.

My Job 1 '08 has been great but I agree with the consensus, go for 09 or 10.

This problem has nothing to do with Ford
And it shouldn't have anything to do with this thread
What you are speaking of was a private deal by a rip off artist in Canada

Based on what you asked go with the 2009

If you can wait I would see what the 2011 will bring
The "word" is the 2011 will get better mileage and to me that is a hugh deal
11 MPG around town with out a program doesn't do it for me
good luck no matter what way you go
And yes I would look at any reports you can find on the truck....

Hi, I did that last summer and I'm not sure I would do it again. This DPF and related problems are hard to get used to after 7 years with an absolutley flawless 7.3. Your fuel mileage will really suck and almost any mods apparantly void the warranty and the mods that will help a lot are also a violation of federal statutes. I won't say not to do it but I will say to think hard about it. I have an 08, it pulls well and the tow/haul option is wonderful, but the terrible mileage and the fear of experiencing some of the major problems that I have read about on here and other forums just takes all the joy out of owning the truck. The 6.4 is not the engine the 7.3 is, that's for sure.

I would like to add also that you are getting twice as much as you had. I just 4 months ago made the trade and hate the mileage, but it pulls better and the truck wow you would not believe the difference

I love the truck. It's quiet, smooth and all around a much better truck. It's nice to have the nice premium sound too.

My only concern is the maintenance costs down the road. I'm talking about injector costs, EGR items, etc... I'm an old 7.3 guy and did almost all of the work on that truck myself..... because I could! This new one I'm not so sure about... Looks a bit intimidating under the hood. Having to pull the cab for certain items will force it to go to a shop for sure!

Easy Killer. I did not say that Ford did anything wrong. I meant to imply that a buyer of a pre owned vehicle be reminded that fraud is out there.

Secondly, this thread is also on the subject of purchasing a pre owned vehicle, so it is relevant. Just pointing out to the OP that a SD got tampered with

I welcome the voice of a moderator to tell me what's appropriate to post, and inappropriate. Best I can tell, it's not your job.

Put the guy on your ignore list. I finally put a couple of them, including this one, on mine last week. Now I enjoy the peace of not having to read anything they say . . . unless someone else quotes it.

1st of all if I upset you I am sorry
What happens in all forums is people post thoughts and ideas
I thought you were putting kobos problems on Ford
And Ford had nothing to do with his problems Frankly for his sake I wish Ford was involved
So again sorry I guess I missed what you were saying...

Sometimes I miss my 2001 7.3.
Not that I don't like this 2008 6.4 model...it's a dang fine truck. Much quieter, better ride, etc... but dang if I just can't fall in love with it like I did my 7.3. Not sure why.
