Post 1956? F600 marmon herrington

i am a new poster. i registered to see if a 1955 or 1956 F600 Marmon Herrington is worth anything to anybody. Friend has retired one on a farm and is sending it to scrap. i hate to see it go to the junk man if it still has value for restoration.

Yes, it's got to be worth more than scrap. Even if the outer sheet metal is junk the mechanical parts are worth a few bucks to some one restoring one. Please, if you can, don't send it to the scrapper. Put it on Craiglist for the price of scrap, it should sell fairly quick.

I'll second Bob's statements. Somebody will wants the M-H drive train components and, if it's like most other northwestern trucks I've seen, it's probably not too badly rusted. I see that you are in the state of Washington. There are guys here that are always on the lookout for good projects, so hopefully you'll hear from somebody. Stu

I just sold one and know of another for 2500.
I hope the one you speak of at least gets used for the frame etc.

Definintly yes. I'd be interested in seeing pictures too.

If nothing else, just the doors or cab will be worth a couple hundred even if they're rusty. I doubt I'll be able to buy it, but if I knew of a closer Marmon Herrington F-600 I'd be all over it... depending it could be worth a couple thousand, not like tens of thousands, but a hell of a lot more than scrap.

It's worth something to a lot of people, and a lot to some people. Be a real shame if it didn't end up in a new home.

I just helped my neighbor pick up two 1918-20 Hudson Essexes in IN. He got them for a $1000 for both. There really is basically enough parts for 1 1/2 cars. The guy selling them, who is in his 80s, isn't a car guy. The cars belonged to his father-in-law who died quite a few years ago. He just wanted them out of the old Hudson dealership building they just recently sold. As we were loading the first car onto my trailer the seller and his son-in-law were telling me we should have been down there the week before. They called in a scrap dealer and had him haul all of the old tools and equipment away. They told us they even smashed an old mill and two lathes with a ten pound sledge hammer. I just hope the tools and the machines were too far gone to be used, at least I hope they were, if not it sure was a shame. They just wanted all of it gone.
