Any special maintenance at 75,000 miles?

My 08 is about to roll 75K. Any special work needed? What about cleaning the EGR system, coolant change, etc...

It's been good so far. Just took it on a trip from New Orleans to Galveston and all was well. It was smooth and quiet the whole way there and back....

I don't recall anything special at 75 K. Your owner's packet contains this information, however. Best to refer to it.

did you have your tranny service at 60K. That is the only thing that stands out in my mine. I am with Larry, check out the maint. schedule in the manual to be sure.

I tried to get my dealer service advisor to flush the coolant and transmission but they looked at the fluids and told me to save my money and leave it alone.

I am close to 130K and have not had anything done, original brakes/diff. fluid/transfer case fluid/trans fluid/steering fluid/brake fluid.

Coolant has been changed three times due to radiator replacement. On my 3rd air filter.

I would just check everything visually and probably just leave it be unless you find an issue.

The trans fluid is still bright red and smells like new. My concern is the coolant degas bottle. Looks like it has some crud buildup on the inside of it here and there. My coolant leak is back so it's going in the shop and it'll get the flush while it's there...

What about an EGR cleaning? Back at 50K the dealer wanted me to do this. I told them no since I didn't know much about it. I still don't know much about it!

my understanding is there is no EGR cleaning on this. In fact what can happen is they will break the valve and housing if they are not careful.

That is what I believe.

Thanks Scott,

I may change the external trans filter while I'm under there at the next servicing. Won't hurt...
