Question on side mirrors

I purchased some original side view mirrors. I have a 66 F250. Has any one installed on of these before? I'm thinking the inside door panel needs to be removed. Any helpful insights would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Nestor

If they're the round style mirror you have to remove the rectangle rubber plug in the door skin. Its a couple inches back from the front edge below the vent window. Install the rectangle gromet that should come with the mirror. Lube the mirror mounting flat bar with the threaded holes and slide it through the slot. Line up the bolt holes above the top hinge and bolt it in.

All the outside mirrors were optional on these trucks, there were...at least seven different types.

If you bought the chrome mirrors with the round head, you do not remove the access panel in the door.

This type of mirror fits into the slot in the door, which is covered by a rubber plug (as mentioned above).

Open the door, look above the upper door hinge for the location where this type of mirror attaches.

Thanks for tip

Thanks for the tip. Will I have to remove the door panels or is it done from the front of the door?

The mirrors fit into the door slots. Above the upper hinge on the outer door face is where they bolt on.

The door shell's sheet metal is impressed in a U shaped pattern where the mirrors attach.

There is no way...none...to access this location from inside the door.

if yo open the door look above the upper door hung inbetween the door and cab, you will see 4 holes in a diamond shape, two of those holes match up with the mirror.

you do no need to remove the access panels

Thanks to all for the help. It looks like finding time may be the hardest part of the project.
