Smile Found a brand new drop in ready/460 HD

I found a brand New 460 ci crate engine to day at a City equipment sale never been uncrated. It was purchased from Ford for one of their emergency vehicles and never used. The tag date was 1976 and has 460 HD stamped in the block. no smog set up, and came with carb, high out put alt., and starter ready to drop in and drive. Now does any one know what the HD difference is? It has 375 h0rse power on the envoice

I have one out of an ambulance. I was told it had different heads and intake on it, but I haven't confirmed that yet.

.....and I'm a little jealous of you right now for such an awesome find.

Yea they should fit, you could head on over to the correct forum section and ask. You might get better results

Tore into my new-to-me holley 600 4 barrel for my old yellow pickup. Everything looked good, minus some dust (rust) on the bottom of the bowls. Apparently only has 500 miles on a rebuild. Traded a motorcraft 2100 for it!

Make sure to check fuel pressure from the fuel pump most pumps range around 7 lbs the Holley handles 5 lbs better most will flood any higher I put a regulator on all my hollers and a riser block under the carb. This stops the heat from causing vapor lock and improves mileage adds a tad more horses too.

Made a JY/post office run this am and the parts are in the mail:

Blue headliner (just the vinyl over lay)
Headliner ring, chrome
Blue visors.
4 pieces of the hard plastic a/c duct work.
Hood stiffener brackets.
Dvrs side dash bezel 3 blade a/c vent
Dvrs side kick panel plastic vent.
Door panel thin chrome
All the metal connector tabs out of a whole fuse box, the removable speaker cover for the top of the dash.
Red glove box with the wood grain overlay and the Lariat tab
Green dvrs side arm rest and interior door latch, and a metal door pull cup set.
ORD hood letters,
L/H tail light
Ball bearing for an ashtray
L/H and R/H bed race trac chrome for the very back.
Black passenger side arm rest. metal door pull cup set.
Locking hood latch assembly.
A giant box of parts to a FTE member in Norway.

What did I do to my truck, took the blue head liner that was falling off the backer and took it off and sold it (see above list) now I have another to put in that is still aheared to the backer.

Christmas gifted metal door pull cups and a factor jack and lug wrench to my FTE bud for his 73.

My headers came in today, so I had a chance to see what I need to do to get them to fit. They are for 64-73 mustangs. I think a mini starter and Z-bar modification are on deck.

Slowly winning the battle with these headers. I modified my Z bar and made a new block mounted bracket.
Cardboard pattern

You can see how far back I had to move the pin to clear the headers.
