Ok I'm new here, but I already have problems. My blinkers don't work at all. I replaced the flasher, that wasn't it. The four way flashers work fine, just no blinkers. I'm guessing that it's something in the wiring up at the lever. Thought I'd run it by you guys first though and see if someone has had this problem before. I hate chasing wiring and if someone has a better idea of where to start I'm all ears.
Ok, they are on a different fuse also. Just maybe...lol. If the fuse is good it's probably the signal switch. Not hard to change but you need a steering wheel puller. Maybe just needs a cleaning. Spray some WD-40 in it if you can. That fixed my tank selector switch. Maybe a wiring problem like you said.
I just got a '79 F150 and had that exact problem, four ways and no blinkers. Mine turned out to be a bad ground and some botched wiring by the PO on the trailer lights he mounted to the stepside bed. All I can say is double check your grounds as it took some doing to find a good ground on mine. By the way I feel your pain (my markers still won't work right). Good luck.
Looks like today is my lucky day! I replaced the t/s fuse (which looked perfectly fine to begin with) and they work. I'm guessing the little jumper wire in the fuse must have broke down below the metal end cap where I couldnt see it. Either way, works now and I didnt have to chase wires
