on the side of the road

ok brothers,
I was driving home from work after letting my truck warm up for about 5 min. when all of a sudden it died on me and would not start back, so i changed out the cps in the cold. no luck, still would not start. checked all the fuses, number 30 under the dash was blown, changed it and as soon as i turned on the key it blew again. changed all the relays under the dash around, nothing. is this a icm problem? the wait to start light does not appear. i did change my gpr about 3 weeks ago. please help, how much is this going to cost me? i called the local dealer and he said they make 2 icm's, 800 bucks and up!

thanks fellas

Sounds like your fuel bowl heater shorted out. Just unplug it on the back side of the fuel bowl. It's towards the bottom of the bowl. Replace the fuse and you should be good to go.

Unplug it and LEAVE IT UNPLUGGED. Then, replace that #30 fuse. Turn key. Drive home.

you guys are amazing! that solved it.

i would like to say thanks for the great info and quick advice, i am not a supporter, but as soon as money gets better i will be. times are tough for all. i got a 3 week old son and a 5 year old and having truck problems today was about the bottom as far as matieral things go, i was not happy. thank u guys, u all turned a not so good day into a good one. i learned something and got it fixed, could not ask for more than that. plus got an extra cps in the tool box.

once again, thank you!
