My truck went hunting...

Long time, no write...too busy working during my retirement ! Hope everyone is doing well and staying out of trouble .

Yesterday I was getting my truck ready for a 2200 mile trip (See map at bottom of post of route...anyone needing anything Pony Expressed, contact me and I'll haul it free...I have a 20' enclosed trailer I will be pulling). I will be leaving in the next month...date not set yet. I have room for people or things.

So I change the serpentine belt, oil, etc...and finally get to the air cleaner. Pull the big old filter out and this is what was inside. an American Kestrel I believe:

Apparently the zoodad mod is a pretty good hunting device, though rather indiscriminating as to what it hunts !

Here is the route I'll be taking (Reno, SoCAl, SoNM, Las Vegas, Reno):

Hey Neal, how been you???

I know what you mean about being retired. I work more now then before I retired. . What's going on with this trip? Is this for play or work? Check out our RHN. . Have fun and be careful.

I've been busy Rick ...driving a lot of contract hazmat (1.4 & 1.6 loads) lately (usually two a month). Good money, dangerous work.

The trip is both fun and work. I'm finally going to go to Holtville to get the tranny done in my truck at John Wood. I'll be pulling a 20' box trailer I usually keep my Nova in. The trailer will be half full of 20 sheets of 4" thick 4'x8' sheets of foam insulation, table saw, and other implements of destruction . After the tranny is done I'll be heading to my place in NM to turn a covered 40' porch attached to the house into a sunroom for winter heating. The wife and I will move down there next fall and stay until April-May.

Congrats on getting the JW trans. I will be getting a BTS in a couple months. Sounds like retirement is doing you well, keeping busy is a good thing. That's some thick insulation.

Neal, now you have me worried. Right in front of the air intake in my grill I have a hole and I don't know how it got there. Maybe I should check under the filter for remnants.

Good to see you post again. I wondered what you were up to after all the work you did on RHN.

I didn't get a deer this year , nor antelope , nor chukars ...best I could do was a kestrel with a 7.3 caliber with the zoodad sighted in!
