i bought a king ranch cup holder out of a 07, i want to replace my one out of my 2000 f-250. How do i get the old one out without breaking it. Is there modification needed to make the 07 fit?
i read a thread a while ago about someone else doing this, i can not find it now though.

If you pull the cup holder all the way out, push down on the top black plastic piece and pull. There are a couple of small tabs there that hold it in place. If you push down and pull at the same time it should come out. The cup holder will physically fit, both years use the same mount. I am not sure what the front plastic piece will look like compared to the old dash though. It will stick out quite a bit further. There may be some of those tabs on the bottom of the cup holder as well, so you may need to squeeze the top and bottom together and then pull.

 

got it in, not sure on the look of it, but it actually holds drinks.
When pulled out it looks fine.
There was a small tab on the back i ground of to make it sit flush with the dash.
I have tan interior, the king ranch is just a little off. Im going to tape the king ranch logo and paint the rest the same color tan.
