I'm not sure about that one. It looks to be a thermocouple probe type of thingy on one end and 2 bullet electrical connectors on the other end. Of course I was careful not to kink it during installation anyway.

This one is not like the thermocouple on an HVAC system that has a copper tube that runs all the way. It's just a wire bundle from the gauge to where the probe lead plugs in.

Ah yes! If there are electrical connections to the gauge then no it is not a tube. I guess I should have been more specific. If the probe, lead, and gauge are connected as one from the factory and can't be disconnected then it is most likely a tube between the gauge and probe.

Sorry about that.

no problemo

Hey snowseeker......I just put that in there because I thought you were considering getting the Glowshift gauges and you might want to know how this probe was made. It's all good.......

Along the same line of installing gauges, I found a great firewall pass-through location for wires and such. Looking in the engine bay near the drivers side there is silver tape. You can easily punch through it and it goes directly inside the cab. Inside the cab there is insulation that is precut in that area to move it out of the way, then put it back in place......these pics are before I re-taped the hole.....

I wondered why that big hole was there.......this forum is like having a neighborhood filled with nothing but Ford owners! It's like walking next door to look at your neighbors truck.......

Nice Part....who sells them?

I have not finished the oil pressure gauge yet. The factory oil pressure sender is just behind the oil filter assembly. It's a real tight spot there and the filter housing is so close to the sender that a deep well socket won't fit. I need more time to disassemble some things to get to it.

Since a Tee won't be able to screw in there, I'm planning on using a pipe nipple long enough to raise the Tee so I can get both sensors in there. The new sender will be remote mounted like I did the fuel pressure sender.

I'll take pics and post when I get into it.

Just got my gauges and researching the installation. Did you hook up the boost sensor into the MAP sensor or did you tap into the intake? If you went into the MAP sensor háček you had any issues with the needle bouncing at all? Great post and pics, thank for your help.

Yes, when I first installed the gauge I tapped into the rubber hose MAP line. It was bouncing alittle too much for me, so I replaced the hose and drilled and tapped the intake elbow. Much more stable in my case.

This is an excellent option to drilling a hole or tapping that hose:

bump to the top.

hoping you guys with these gauges can report back in with quality and/or any issues. especially since they've been installed for a while. I'm looking to run these gauges since they'd be 1/3 the cost of similar Autometer gauges
