Fuel tank size 1988 crew cab

I've been searching for the last half hour and still didn't find anything.
1988 crew cab. What sizes are the fuel tanks? I was at an 1/8th tank on my front, when I switched to the rear. I filled it up with 18.5 gallons. Now if it were a 19 gallon tank like I thought, then I only had a half gallon left, and my fuel gauge is off a bit. I always thought my rear was a 15 gallon tank, but I'm not sure. It looks bigger then the front, just because it flatter and more layed out.

Thanks timothy, maybe it was because it was the first time I filled it since I modified the tank. The fuel level was able to go to the top. I sprayed a little fuel out of the vent line that I installed, so now I know that I have to make it a little longer. So it's concievable that I can get 570 miles out of a fill up. I would hate to push it that much, I was just curious.

yup...when I was running all stock I would usually run about 225 miles per tank, and always had at least a few gallons left when I stopped....unless you have rebuilt the factory gauges and pick-ups dont trust them

Yeah the floats are metal and they corode through and the floats starts sinking down.

That's what happen in the 89 F150 I bought, gauge always read empty.

The tanks have a 16 gallon capacity till the vent mod but they put whatever tanks in on the line I think, my rear was a 17 squeeze then the front was a 19 but the manual said 16, now it holds 21 and the rear is a 30 gallon bronco tank that holds 33.

odd...I just checked the manual for my 86 cc and it shows dual 19's as standard, only place it shows the 16's is for the front on a shortbed
