I'm very interested in this cam but rather new to the diesel scene. I know all about gassers though. Would a cam swap be something a newbie like myself could handle.

As easy as a gasser my friend. Only difference is, diesel cam is gear driven instead of chain/belt.

I think I might just have to put this in my 84 block. I have been reading about it and I could just send in my 87 block core.....

Hey Typ4. how do I contact you privately to coordinate shipment of a cam core for a regrind? The PM function doesn't seem to be working here.

you need 25 post's (plus 24 hrs after posting the #25th time) in order for pms to open.
its to combat spam.

Oh and thanks for the kind words.
This might be somthing already covered, but are the regrinds rehardened? I want one but im just wondering if the lobes will be gone in 30k?

Well I cannot answer from experience, but type4 had said over a year or so ago when this thread was opened that he had 30k on his with no problems so he would probably be the best person to ask.

just so everyone knows they are a steel billet and do not need rehardening after a regrind.
I have seen some cast billets from very early engines but they dont grind those unless they run out, they are also hard through the whole shaft.

Anyone know if I need to send in the core after i installed the type 4's or do they need core first.Very interested but it is a daily driver and would need the least amount of downtime I could get.

I just got Russ's cam in the 1994 idi turbo today. I'm going to dyno it next month. Unfortunately I didn't dyno before the cam install but the numbers I'm sure will still be useful. Right now I'm debating whether I should get the improved downpipe before getting this sucker back in the truck.

Hey Russ, thanks for the cams. I'll send you the core from this one probably Monday and hopefully you can use it.
