new to ford. looking for some help with power on 4.6
need some help. i have a 99 150 4.6 2wd scab with about 100.000 miles on it. im new to ford (used to like my chevys). i like my truck but has a lot less power than my 4.8 chev did, would like to get a little more power...
already did the (gotts intake trick) and a cat back

BTW, when did rear end gears start adding power?
Since you're such a genius , what hardware would you suggest that will give up to 25 hp for $400 (or even less if you don't want gauges)?

well, most people with trucks are looking for pulling power and torque (hence the rear end rebuild)
also, i didnt say to go with no programmer, just not 3 and a chip! is it even possible to have more than one programmer setup on the pcm?
better than 25 and under 400, how about a free flow intake and edelbrock intake manifold? perform cam?

He already did the Gotts mod. Even if he hadn't, no A/M intake alone is not going to give you 25 hp.
Do you have links to the manifold and cams? How many hp? Cost?

This is easy and I know will add atleast 10-15rwhp...
Get a midpipe with hi flow cat's.
I know mid pipes that either get higher flowing cats or get rid of them all together will net you atleast 10rwhp.
But it may not be an option for you depending on the rules your country imposes with emissions.
I'd say the best you can do for that seat of the pants feel:
Midpipe
4.10's * I know this doesn't add power, but it gets you in the power band faster
Longtubes (I'd recommend a 3" collector so you can slip fit the midpipe which would preferrably be an X-pipe
Get it tuned...not an out of the box tune..go to a facility with a wideband and a dyno and someone to sit there and actually tune the car.
Another thing you can try is to stick some bigger injector on that truck and run E85 in it with a tune. I've seen vehicles pick up anywhere from 10-30rwhp on E85 alone, just keep in mind it uses 30% more fuel on average and you can have cold start issues. *cold start issues can be tuned out
So I think with your budget you can knock out gears, LT's, INjectors, Tune, midpipe and E85....I think you would notice some serious differences.

Ok listen up children... Let's all assume that I'm smart enough to know that this guy is not going to just replace one cam. If u look at edelbrocks top cams (n don't try to tell me they don't have good cams) they run about 350. For one! So yeah about 700 total. So don't come into a forum a couple days late and try to make urself look good cause ur embarrassing urself and confusing the people who r actually tryin to get answer.
