Just wondering what some of you fellow Ford truckers think about this.

Doesnt have the same ring as government motors though does it...? haha.

 

It is not uncommon here in the US for local, state or federal goverment to contribute money to new business projects. I take it the same practice is done in Canada also. Not shure I agree with much or all of the money given however, I don't see how a payback is possible in some situations. The whole gist is to try and create jobs but IMO low taxes would do the same, if not better in creating and maintaining jobs and businesses.

 

Toyota and Honda have been doing this in the southern states for years, and they took a helluva lot more than $81M.

Toyota just got $300 million from Mississippi alone.

While this is a strange phenomenon, it is lightyears removed from the bailout. Canada's gov't isn't loaning money, or taking part ownership of the company, but stuffing Ford's pocket to keep them from looking elsewhere.
