what size wheel do i need?

Hey guys im going to be ordering some o.e.m. style chrome reverse wheels from wheel vintiques. I want them to be fairly close to stock size (1952 f1) because i want to run the old firestone bias plys. The truck is going to have a 3" drop axle and possibly some springs removed to go lower. what size wheel should i run with? Thanks for your help!

The factory wheel for the 52 F-1 was 16x4 1/2. I would check with your tire manufacturer and get their recommendations on what size wheel is compatable with the tires you want to use, then contact wheel vintiques and tell them what your intended use of their wheels are, and have them build exactly what you need.

IMHO, I think 4 1/2 inch REVERSED wheels are going to look a bit strange. If you're going reversed I'd go with a 15x6 inch wheel. The fact that you are going with a reversed wheel means you are no longer tied to originality so why not go with something wider which would handle better and carry a larger tire? A 15x6 wheel will handle bias ply tires just as well as if not better than a 4 1/2 inch wheel...

It's not a reversed wheel but here are the 15x6 inch wheels I'll be running on my 49 F-1. Those are 215:75/15 bias ply tires which came with the wheels but I have not decided if I want to keep them...not a big fan of bias ply tires and they're a little small for a truck. I prefer 2:25 or 2:35:75/R15s.
