07 Expedition with a four Speed?

It’s possible and very likely that some Expedition test mules (test vehicles that look like the automotive version of Frankenstein, they are experimental prototypes) had the 4-speed 4R75 automatic. The extended Expedition (which would later become known as the Expedition EL) was spied as early as summer 2004.
But all test mules are disassembled and scrutinized after preliminary testing, then completely scrapped. Preproduction vehicles are the next step in development, then the actual production vehicle (the one we as consumers buy at the dealership)
Neither the test mules nor preproduction vehicles are released to the public.
All production Expeditions have the 6-speed 6R75 automatic (6-speed 6R80 automatic from 2009-onward model years)
