87 Bronco w/AOD & no fwd/reverse

I recently purchased an 87 Bronco w/302 & AOD tranny. Supposedly the guy had the tranny replaced & claims he drove it around the block but had to park it due to antifreeze leaking. I've replaced the radiator & it runs but has no motion in any forward or reverse gears. I checked the tranny fluid level (with motor running) & it appears to be 1 to 1.5 quarts overfull and quite clean. I pulled the trans cooling lines to the radiator & no fluid comes out with the truck idling. Is it possible the front pump in the tranny is bad, or that the torque converter wasn't bolted up & actually freewheeling?

I've searched the board & found a couple leads, but looking for a bit of input

thanks in advance for any input!

Anything is possible if the trans has been worked on, he could have the wrong flexpalte in there or no bolts in it like you said, or maybe the TV cable is disconnected/broken/missing or the internal TV linkage is displaced.
