Skid plates for XLT

Hey guys,
I have a 2008 F150 5.4L. I was looking at getting skid plates for it, but can't seem to find anything. I don't need anything that looks nice, just need function. Will fx4 skid plates fit on my truck? If so, anyone know where to find new ones online?

Thanks

I believe fx4 plates will fit. My XLT has factory skid plates.

My XLT I think may have had one small one for the gas tank or something. I would have to look but I did add aftermarket ones that go from the bumber to behind the front axle. I beleive it's two peices. It's not polished, so it's noticable but it's done it's job as I have a small dent on it. I think it was a Procomp accessory. I purchased it at 4wheelparts.

I have some pics on my phone, will try to post after dinner.

I would love to find some skidd plates for my 05 screw as well, but every place I look they are only made for thr trucks that have the six inch lifts. I can't seem to find anything for a stock truck.

^ oh yeah, I have a 6" (actually 7") lift on mine. The FX4 stuff should bolt right on. I just saw a thread with the part #'s (not sure if it was this forum. Anyhow, I sugest you purchase form oefordparts.com as they are 1/3 to 1/2 half of the dealer cost.

yep, the FX4 stuff will bolt right up

however, they aren't exactly "robust" if you know what I mean. They are better than nothing...but I might have twisted mine a wee bit on my old 2006 FX4.

See if you have a decent metal shop around. It wouldn't be very hard to get some 1/4" or 1/8" sheetmetal cut to shape and bent. Then you can measure and drill the holes pretty easily IMO.

btw, if you get one custom made, make sure to make a cutout for the oil filter. The stocker plates have a nice hole that comes in pretty handy

Bought mine I think from Moss Motors, but I believe they may no longer be selling F-150 stuff. Will have to verify source from home later. The one I bought was ~1/4" aluminum plate, covering front end to just in front of oil plug.
