2010 Hennessy Raptor: 501HP/520lb-ft
#17
Yeah well for a 6000lb truck w/ 35's is pretty good. I can only imagine if they took a regular cab, short bed F150 and did this work to it what it would be capable of. Too bad Ford isn't making the lighting any more.

Was gonna start another thread, but I figured I'd throw it in here..
Just found this.. Prolly a re-post, but only a month old Vid. I'd like to see a 2wd launch compared to a 4wd launch. 4wd hoggs a lot of power. Wheels spin or less power.. Take your pic.

Now THIS is more like it!!!! Not a 6.2 or a henney, but still!

It's not a drag racer and if that's what you're using it for you're really missing the point.
Adding HP is not always a good idea for something that is made to run hard in the dirt. More HP is more wear and tear on the axles, third members, transmission, and transfer case. This truck was designed as a unit to be most effective and for the sum of all the parts to work well and be reliable. You throw the whole thing out of balance when you just upgrade the HP.
To me it would make more sense to spend the money on a set of leafs for the rear from Deaver Springs and beefier front A-arms and spindles from Brenthal Industries. Now you can use all the HP you have and cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time off road.
I'd be more than happy to race any factory dodge truck against a Raptor in Baja. I know a perfect quarter mile out around San Felipe called zoo road that would work out just right.........At least for me and the Raptor.............

Exactly. I have heard a lot of good reports on the Deavers. Waiting for someone to install the Brenthal kit and give a report.

Is it true that there's only ONE hennessy 600 velociraptor? If so, I've seen it. I changed the oil on it last week....Its the orange one on their website that says its sold. The guy claimed it to be the very first one to be made, but I thought he was just blowin smoke. Two oddities about it though: One is that the vortec-type supercharger on it squeaks like a bad belt until sufficiently warmed up. Two, all the badges that denote "Hennessy 600" and "Supercharged" are just stickers, vynals. I could have them made here in town and have an 86 F-350 Hennessy turbo supercharged 900! All for only a few dollars. I'm just saying that you spend $60-80,000 on a truck, I'd expect billet or at least plastic badges. It was cool so see though, and has a great sound as you might expect. He already changed the tires and rims and put some red-letter General Grabbers mounted on some flat-black rims on it last week too. Its here in northern OK.

That is nice but those HP numbers out of that 5.4L are pathetic. I've seen a few 5.4's put out way more HP then that... I guess that is good for not going all out though. 5.4 is just an amazing motor. People fail to see how great this motor is. If Shelby can make it put out 750 HP then its a great motor. There is even a few Ford GT's that put out 1000+ with the same 5.4L we see...
