To tell you the truth i'm more worried about having the truck to take to work than the money. if the bottom end blows out then sure i wouldn't be able to fix it right then and it would cost me a lot, but it would break my heart more to see it sit there and not running. I can't stand driving our cummins... haha. i doubt it's anything too serious. if it's the injectors i will get Jim to send me a set like the day before. just gotta figure out whats going on with it.

are your injectors seated down good? You know the long screwdriver stethoscope trick? can you pinpoint where the sound is coming from by listening to various parts of the motor? Does it look or smell like there's fuel in the oil? Maybe a slightly lifted injector or a sticking exhaust valve. maybe suck all the crud oil outa the HPOP and put some good clean oil up there. there's a cool youtube video powerstrokehelp shows about this. he uses this stuff called prolong(sounds more like a little blue pill than oil additive) quiets the injectors right up. I would post it but don't know how try pasting this

So, the oil in the HPOP doesn't get changed via circulation w/crankcase oil whenever one changes the engine oil?
Once in the HPOP it basically stays there?
That is interesting. I would have thought that there was some degree of circulation through the reservoir of "fresh" oil from the crankcase during engine operation.

the oil in the HPOS gets circulated so fast that there is absolutely NO reason to change the oil in the hpop rez and rails. the injectors are all seated correctly and the HPOP rez has good oil. i won't be using any of that guys(powerstrokehelp) advice that he gives in those vids. he says a lot of stupid chit in those vids. haha

yep, they can do the buzz/cct now. i have my fuel pressure set at 70psi at idle. It starting doing this last Friday and i have driven it about 110 miles since i first noticed it. it hasn't been driven the last 2 days b/c the slave cylinder went out, but i started it and let it run for about 30 minutes yesterday to see if it would do it and it didn't do it, but obviously it was not under a load.

Tim, calm down brother. it's all gonna be ok. i don't think any of us agree with that powerstrokehelp clown or his top end oil changes with prolong. maybe we could talk to a mod and get a sticky posted to not post anything about powerstrokehelp dot com b/c i see no way that they could block the vids and stuff from just them. just a thought. haha

YEAH we could get one them 100 micron stainless steel cleanable filters and hook one up pre pump then hook two up in the hpop lines yeah cause you know all that sludge and what not that gets past the full flow filter!

All my jumping up and down is just for effect. I don't get too worked up about this issue as much as I used to since now I have complete proof the guy is an idiot and other people can see that....well except his one buddy that told me I fabricated the oil report and told me I was a liar. I let him have it!

If you loose 10 psi at an unloaded rev, I would expect it to fall more under
a load. You need to see it under the load.

While no two motors are the same the psd seems to like 62 psi idle.
