Scored a new pair of fenders ....
Although I have not seen the '51 F1 I have purchased yet, today I purchased a set of 'new' front fenders for it. They were up for eBay auction and they were in my home state (Indiana) so I bid for them and won the auction. Maybe the existing fenders can be recovered and if they can be used I would prefer "real steel." I have no experience in welding or body work so I would need some help on the original fenders. Jobbing out body work involves big bucks. I think a 'new' pair of 'glass' fenders along with a new cross member below the grill for $338 is a decent deal. With them being available in Indiana I can avoid shipping charges.
Fenders will go into storage. When I do bring the old truck to its new home when spring arrives, there are many other issues to attend to ahead of the body work, but it is a good idea to 'plan ahead.' Meanwhile, time to 'hunker down,' we are under a 'blizzard watch.'

Wow the seller must have had those posted someplace strange because I check e-bay twice a day for parts and I never saw a pair of F1 fenders for sale! That's probably why they were so cheep - they were burried! You scored a great deal if they are in as good of condition as you say. They should have been about twice that amount!
Great job.
PS and you are sure they are F1 fenders, not F2+ right?
Late edit note: I missed that these are fiberglass, not steel.
