I remember someone doing a writeup on installing a rheostat a while back, theses motors are drive by wire so there is nowhere to twist a screw or tighten a cable to bring the idle up, it must be accomplished through programming or "fooling" the TPS as far as I know.
try doing a search for "high idle" and see what you come up with.
You can do the DIY method, or you can install an AIC/APCM (Ford factory idle controller) or get a custom burned chip with a high idle tune. I have both options B and C
DIY = do it yourself. Wire in a rheostat or potentiometer with the TPS sensor on the pedal to crank up the idle. A google search might turn something up, not sure of a good site for a 7.3.
HMMMM My truck idles up to 1000RPMs on its own if I let it idle long enough... usually about 5 minutes. Then drops back to normal if I touch the pedal or the brake. I have the early 99... Dont they all do that?

That is normal. Mine does that too when the outside temps are cold enough, which is not all that often down here.
yea thats what i rly wanted. i dont think it would be that hard to do..there kinda cool, you just start the truck, idle up the pump to where you want and your good to go, it acts as a gas peddle stead of a peddle its a ****
