Last week I traded a 97 GEO for A 65 F250 with a 352, 4speed, it has dually rear end,. The previuos owner said they only made 2500 with this rear end, is there any way to check on this. also I want to restore this truck and would like info on rebuild kits for it, and some info on how to add pics so those who might want to could see it.

Reason: added pics
The dually rear was either added or is modified to accept the dual rims. No factory dualies for F250s were produced. To get a dually it had to be an F350 for the weight.
Garbz Thanks for the reply, I have seen an add from a dealer in florida and it is from 1965 they say it was made only in small numbers I still question weather it was made. Im trying to figure out how to add pics.
post the vin # off the driver door and the folks here will decode it for you. it may very well be a 350 as Garbs said, no dualies were built in the 250 class. by hte way, welcome to he site. great place. dutch
Welcome to FTE first off.
Secondly, that second fuel tank in the bed side you see is also not factory...in case that was told you..no 61-6 F100-250 was ever made with anything else except the in cab fuel tank.
The dually...Garbz has that one pretty much buttoned down...as I recall no F250 was offered with a dually rearend until 80-82ish time frame...
As for the trade itself...very very well done :-) You came out waaaaaaaay ahead IMO:-)
The VIN decodes as follows:
F= F series truck
25= 3/4 ton 2WD pickup
D= 352 2bbl carb.
K= Kansas City assembly plant
704665 = June build date.
My 65 had a slightly lower s/n but was actually assembled in early July at a different plant though...its a summer built truck though that you have.
As for the rest of the codes...snap a pic of the left rear door face which is where the Warranty Plate should be affixed to the door with rivets. Post the pic and any other info that may not be clear and I or a few others with the info can decode it all for you.
I did come out way ahead, I been after him to sell me this truck for 6 years and he would not come down. His wife was up here visiting mine and the subject came up. I told her to tell him I would trade him title for title I about fell off my chair when he called me back and said yes. I paid 250 bucks for the GEO 3 years ago. Go figure, I think his wfe eas tired of looking at the truck sitting in the yard. I will take picture of tag in the morning to dark tonight they didnt come out thanks for the help guys.
you got lucky... who cares if they did some modifactions to it. its a classic and always will be... to be honest who in there right mind would take a dod gamn geo for trade for a truck? was he slow or something?
also this truck has 3 tanks and if it is not factory who ever did it did a nice job, on that and the fenders. I seem to remember some of the old trucks having a small fender flare. will take some more pics and try to get them on. need help with the pait skeem to I think origanlly it was light green and white.
I have seen one 1964 factory F100 long bed style side with a factory installed under bed tank. It used the stock fill location in the cab and had steel tubing down trough the floor to the tank. Tank was from a P100 delivery.
The owner was one of the original slick60 guys back in 2000 when it was all started. I have yet to see another equipped like this. Truck was in MI.
Good morning Garbz2 and all. I took my pictures And will start down loading Im on dial up so it will take a while. I 'm puting them in the gallery. The fuel tanks are later and the wheel wells are cut out. It looks like some one used a pattern from something in the 70s and used some flare fenders rivets or screwons. Im not sure about the rear end being modified for the dually's. I m not sure where to look for the numbers on the rear end to identify it. it has older camper hook ups from a slide in mounted on the cab. paint looks like some one got a new paint gun and did not know how to use it, or a sander. I also found one corner on the front passanger side that has a small amount of bondo. but truck looks like most all of it is there and some. Will look forward to having some one do the break down on the door tag hard to read painted over it and the rubber door trim, go figure. aint projects fun I have a 44 farmall h that I been woorking on slowlyand have to move it out of the shop to get into this one.
