The down week was planned, Ford spokesman Richard Truett said, to reprogram robots, stock parts, and align tooling for the new version of the truck that features a Ford-manufactured 6.7-liter diesel and redesigned six-speed transmission.
The changes “make sure the new model can go down the line smoothly,” Truett said.
Ford begins production of the redesigned Super Duty next week, Dunn said.

 

I'd be curious as to the MPG of this new mill. I hard to get both good emissions and good MPG AND more power.

The 7.3 gets good MPG. It also pollutes like a train. The 6.4 was reasonably low on emissions but the MPG was pretty bad.

You think the new PSD is going to be the real deal?

 

There´s a big interest in getting the proper horsepower and torque figures and ofcause the MPG. The wait will soon be over. Chicagofair the 12 of Febr sounds interesting.

Ford can´t wait anymore when the truck is in full production in five days.

 

I have read where a lot of people who have priced the 2011 said they would be $60K or more. I assume these are fully loaded. Ford said they were keeping the price of the diesel option the same. When I ordered my 2005 F350 DRW Cab and chassis XLT CC 4x4 6speed with alloy wheels and break control it was $38K out the door. I guess my ? is what would a 2011 like this be. I'm just wanting to get an idea of how much the trucks have gone up when you compare apples to apples. Thanks.

 

one guy noted the truck overall cost went up 1000. from 2010

but 2011 has more options to choose from too, to make it more money
like spray in bed liner, 5th wheel prep,etc..

Get xplan (which is pretty much invoice) they had those plan prices out like candy at a parade.

mine f350 4x4 lariat drw, nav,5th prep,heat/cooled seats,heated block,elec. seats,spray in bedline. i think that was all extras

X-Plan just is not that good of a deal anymore.

All kinds of secret factory to dealer incentives are out there. Most dealers around Dallas will sell for less than X-Plan price. For the dealer, X-Plan is actually a pretty good deal.

For example, $12k-$13k off (including all rebates) F-250, CC, Lariat, PSD, 4x4 is pretty routine around here.

I consider $10k off MSRP the starting point for any of this diesels.

 

What kind of power/torque is this thing puttin out?

 

my dealer told me if they went any lower than xplan, plus any other incentives they would get into trouble.
But, i still went with them because the are local and just in case the truck has issues, plus i got free oil changes for life.

 

I was just informed that KTP will be down again next week (02/15/10) due to part supplier issues and that Job 1 has been pushed back to 02/22/10.

It was also noted that KTP plans on building 11,000 units before Ford is going to give the OK to ship. Several employee parking lots have been closed to accommodate the storage of the trucks. It is expected the OK to ship will be given no sooner then 03/01/10 with some where around 03/15/10 being more likely...

 

Dont know why you guys are all so suspicious about the fuel mileage. IF they have the emissions side figured out then high teens and twenties should be attainable. The 6.0 and the 6.4 WITHOUT the EPA plumbing and tuned will get those numbers, so it stands to reason that Fords engineer's may have figured out the best of both worlds.

Just a thought.

 

Does anybody have power/torque numbers on this truck?

 

Nothing official at this point. Ford is supposed to release the numbers the beginning of March. With that said, right now it is looking like the unofficial numbers are 400 HP / 750 TQ.

 

I had the chance to see a new 6.7 this past weekend. I was told to expect numbers close to 400hp/700tq. I'm not looking forward to SCR, but maybe it will be better than expected. I heard that there has been many complaints about the manual transmission being dropped. I suggest that anyone wanting a manual to contact Ford about this issue. Hopefully they will change their mind.

 

I've also read numerous times 750 Tq. I don't mind the idea of SCR. According to GM on Pickuptrucks.com, the new Duramax with SCR runs 15 city, 25hwy and up to nearly 30mpg crusing at 55. People who have driven the Ford 6.7 have made similar claims.

The 08 diesels (all of them) struggle to get 17 on the highway. Cost of DEF = $2-3 a gallon. It holds 5 gallons from what I understand, and lasts for 7500-10,000 miles. So a cost of $15 every 10,000 miles!

What is the fuel saving over 10,000 miles? Well it appears to have roughly a 5-7mpg saving, at today's price of $3 a gallon. I'll go on the low side of 5mpg saving.

fuel used: 454 gal. 416 gal

So would anyone pay $15 to save $402-515 every 10,000 miles?

To add to that, I guess the cost saving increases as diesel price increases.

 

Just priced one out, loaded 2011 king ranch diesel $65,000 msrp,5500-6000 off msrp.
