I understand dropping all that cash for a engine that youdon't drive every day.
I alsothink some of these mechanics are greedy.

I missed out on 2 292's in your neck of the woods in the last 2 months. one was an engine only for $200 and another was engine and tranny for $400

I have a flatty but if this is no good my first choice will be a 292 or a 312.

When are we going to see pics of this NAPCO? I was just talking about these the other day with a chevy guy. I know they made them but couldn't prove it.

I didn't buy it. I guess the guy will not sell it. I tried everything. Will give him some time and maybe later will give his address to you if he says ok.
You know I never saw one before either, and I have seen more 56 ford trucks then 10 guys...LOL
I also have a bunch of yblocks and in the spring will most likely sell off the ones I won't use.
Have too many parts....and need to sell off a couple more trucks this spring.
I have bought some land and will do a Canada-U.S. trip this summer........and pick along the way.
The owner of the napco would not let me take pics of it. He is afraid of someone steeling it........maybe me and you.....haha!!!

What a tease! First you post about a marmon herrington and only show a pic of the inside, then you find a napco supposedly, and still no pics! I can't help but think that maybe your blowing smoke! I can't wait to see your next thread about the mercury panel all wheel drive! Of course you could just post a picture, then you could make me look like the idiot.....

Hi Bill,

I have a stupid question! What is a NAPCO? Was that a truck that used to haul cookies?

just sayin

Hello guys, dont want to ruffle any feathers here and I do not browse this site very often which is given the late reply to this thread about the napco 4wd,,,I do not know who the owner is of the mystery 1956 F-100 napco 4wd that some of you are speaking of,,,,but I can CONFIRM that there is such a thing as a napco ford,,,I do own a 1956 Ford F-100 napco power-pak,,the truck has all the orig running gear and orig 4wd components,, the truck also has another option to make it even more rare, it has the big back window.
And NO the truck is not for sale,,,this is the only F-100 napco I have ever seen.

Yes, that's true, there is also Napco Studebakers. Napco actually converted F350 Fords at least until 1972. There was no factory F350 4X4 until 1979. Coleman converted Fords at least until the late 50s, and a company called Fabco turned out some mid-50s Fords as well. Not sure about smaller models, but they did do F350s for sure. Fabco was still converting larger trucks at least until the late 60s/early 70s.

Yes indeed. There was, IIRC, a '57 Ford Napco sitting in a yard in Moriarty, NM, for a lot of years. It is even pictured in one of the 4x4 books. Stu
