Parking brake cables again F350

I appreciate all the respoinses the last time i brought up this topic. I went with Rock Auto's cables because they listed the lengths beside the picture of the cable. They came in yesterday - wrong length. They are not as long as they need to be nor as listed on the picture. I called them and they said they would contact the supplier.
Both Rock auto and NAPA list the same part number for this application as do other parts houses. They are all wrong. The sheath is too short.
Why am I writing?
73 to 75 are the only cables listed to fit my application. Might any one know what changed in 76? Did the cables switch to running along only one side of the frame instead of the middle maybe? Maybe the change was so slight that icould be looking for a newer year.

Monday I will get ahold of green sales and try and get origanal cables from ysk or maybe that obsolute parts place. Aftermarket has delayed my project by 1 month, as well as tied up my lift and made me use a fork lift to move my 74 around.

The part number you gave me is C9TZ 2A635
The local ford garage gave me dif numbers for each side. The ones I took off were the same in length.
BC95786 is the aftermarket number that is used by lots of suppliers.
The sheath on these after market ones are only 39 inches. The sheath needs to be at least 41 1/2. 43 would be best.
I tyried parts vioice but I cannot get on any more. Obsolete parts does not have it. They say there is after market and on order. Green sales is closed today.

I, too, have a '76, but an F150 Supercab Trailer Special. My cables were seized when purchased (not unnusual!)and I needed new ones. I spent hours combing the junkyard to find the right lengths of both cable and sheathing. But, I did succeed. I bought one side from a parts store, but the other side was wrong. That is why I hit the junk pile. I found a cable that looked like new and was the right length, so I bought it for next to nothing. No idea why there were so many different lengths of cables for the same truck! Different configurations as well...

There were NO 133" Wheel Base F350 Regular Cabs made from 1973 thru 1978.

Only the 1979 F350 4X4 had a 133" Wheel base

155" Wheelbase is Super Cab Only

The reply above has an item in bold text mentions a 133".

I found that at that web site mentioned under 1976 F350 so I thought I would bring it up.

It must be a mistake by Auto Parts Giant.

Dennis, I don't give a scheiss what Wagner says. The Ford Parts Book says otherwise.

This guy has been going through hell trying to get the correct brake cables.

The information I gave him is correct . And is verifiable by going to the Parking Brake Application Charts Section 23.2 in the 1973/79 Light Truck Parts Catalog.

There is a section in the Wagner catalog that gives cable lengths. They will have to dredge out an actual book and not rely on the computer.

Mine is a 137" wheel base, f350. It turns out there is a guy about 1 hour away from here that makes cables. I am going to call him tomorrow.
I believe all of you and want to thank you for your support.
For what ever reason, there are specs out there that manufacturers are going by that are wrong. The fact that these cables only fit three years might be a reason they might not be available by very many auppliers. I will let you guys know how I make out.
For what is is worth. I carried out the running gear completely done execpt for the rear cables, drums, wheels. I carried in the engine.

I don's know if you are still around but i have a 137 inch wheel base 1974 Ford F350 and no one can give me the cable numbers for the actual cables that are made for the truck. I have the front with a 90 to 90.5 inch cable and the housing is 71 to 71 3/8 with rear cables the same length of 40.5 to 41 on the housing and 76 to 76.25 on the cable. These are OEM to my truck. I got tired of all these know it alls that know nothing about the 137 inch regular cab i have. I have yet to find out the part numbers for these cables anywhere. If you do let me know.

No such thing as a 1973/75 F350 Regular Cab with a 137" wheelbase, it's either 136" or 140" or 160" // 1974/75 F350 Super Cabs have a 138" or 140" wheelbase.

So, what do you have, a Regular or a Super Cab?

Here's a pic of the parking brake application charts for F350's.

If you still have your old cables, there is company that will make new ones using your old ones as a pattern. I can't recall the name, they are one of the companies that reproduces brake lines. Fine Lines? That's the only company I can think of now, not sure if its them. Do a little searching, see what you can find.
