I realize this isn't a parts locator service but everyone seems to take posts in stride so I'll ask anyways. Living in the salt ridden roads of the north the bed of my 79 4X4 F150 is quickly reaching the point of no longer passin PA inspection. If anyone knows of a good supply (Ha Ha) or has one please let me kno

Since you didn't say that you had a step-side box on your Ford, I thought I would toss a reply your way. Other wise I would ignore your post. Try dvap.com or 1-800-905-8024 for Desert Valley Auto Parts which is in Phoenix. Or else try a recent copy of Hemmings and there should be junk yard listings there too; I think Hemmings ads are now also on line. You knew it wouldn't be cheap but a box can be shipped by truck. Junking a good pickup just because the box is shot seems such a waste.

Hey Alan,
I'm also in the market for a new step-side box for a 79. I've been told that there is a conversion (ambulance, forest service) company that is in the central part of the state-near Altoona. I'll keep tryin' to get some specifics if I can. They supposedly have short boxes very cheap. As soon as I find anything I'll pass it along if you'll do the same. Good huntin', Chuck P.

Allen,

An excellent, trustworthy, and all around good parts catalog store for anything that you need for your Ford truck is Auto Krafters www.autokrafters.com

Auto Krafters have been in the Ford truck supply business for over 20 years; if they don't have it, NOBODY does. You can visit them at their website to order a full-line, detailed catalog for $6.00 (In the USA, shipping included) with your credit card.

Another excellent company is *** Truck out of Lenexa, Kansas. They have been suppying quality parts for over 20 years, also. Plus, you can order their full-line catalog for free by following the links at www.*********.com

*** does not have as an extensive array of parts as Auto Krafters, but they do have some awesome parts!

Hope this helps. From your fellow Ford nut!
