My shackles came in this week and I hope to get the work done this weekend (sunday). I am wondering if anyone has done a write up on these things, i.e. what tools are needed? what to lift with the jack? where to put the bottle jack? do i need a ratchet strap?

Also, has anyone tried putting these shackles on the back leafs, instead of doing blocks? thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

 

Bdrummons should be able to walk you through the install. I believe he's talked about how simple it is in several threads.

I'd stick with the blocks in the rear.

 

Im with Chris on this one... Messing up geometry on the rear axle isnt a good idea... You would have to shim the axle to maintain proper pinion angle... This isnt much of an issue on the front until you start to go big.
