Is this a Ford heater?

There are no markings or names that I could find.

Looks like some kind of ancient toaster oven. I would say if you can't find Ford predominantly on it it ain't Ford. Ford liked stamping their name on everything they made.

I have to agree with Bob, but it is kind of a cool, semi-art deco piece. There were several makers of heaters 'back in the day', (there's another term for people to hate on, LOL). I have one that is marked "Supreme" on the front. I asked my Dad, one time, if he happened to know anything about it. He said, "yeah, that's a good one!" I asked for details, thinking he might know something about the history of the brand, and he replied "well, it has 'Supreme' right on the front of it." Thanks Dad. LOL

Kind of like talking to my father-in-law, but your dad makes for sense.

I thought these heaters were a "choose your brand" type thing. I have one that I bought at a swap meet that looks similar to the Ford heater but mine is an Allstate.

It looks like a bus heater. It's upside-down, isn't it?

You must be talking about this heater. I pulled this out of one of the parts trucks I had some time ago.

It's not upside down. The two holes on top go to the defroster ducts and the rod on top moves so that the holes could be opened/closed. The fan inside is sitting horizontally and pulls air through the bottom where the heater core is located. I looked inside and it seems to have a similar, if not the same, motor as the Magic Air heater.

Not exactly. Mine has a vertical rib from top to bottom with Allstate on it. The side doors look right but there is not a door in the center.

Ok Ilya, here it is.
Its from an REO late 40's to early 50's ? (this one looks about like a 47 a19 or a20?) ok so I'm not 100% but this REO truck has one in it that looks real similar at least, who knows if its original or not but looks just like your heater...

btw that allstate heater is pretty cool looking

Thanks for the pics, Josh. Without any markings, who knows where the heater is from.

I'm liking this thread. Anyone else got any pictures of rusty heaters or REOs?
