Need a good tire size

I have a 88 f250 5.8l c-6, 4x4, 4.10 gears. It has the factory hd option so it sits a little higher than the standard f250. I'm just wondering what a good tire size would be between stock and max. It's going to be my work horse and will see towing and mud. Would like a good 10 ply. I'm gonna go with a mild aggressive pattern.
