Stalling problem

Have a 97 ford 250 diesel . Just got the truck a few weeks ago run great drives good etc . It keeps stalling . Seems to be fine sometimes and then other times it will stall 4 times in a row . Some times the last time it will be hard to start back up . Sounds and feels like when you run a truck out of fuel . Just had the cam sensor and speed sensor recall done. Stalls usually when you go to accelerate. A mechanic said try replacing the computer . So i did . Dont worry i did not buy one , I have a 96 out back totaled with a good engine .

Looking for answers

Thanks in advance
Bob

I've got a 2000 F250. It would stall and start right back up. (Seemed to happen more often when it was wet out). Almost like an old car with a cracked distributor cap. I changed out CPS. Truck ran great. About a month or so later it started to stall again. (wet or dry) I replaced it again, truck ran great. Any way it may still be the CPS. The second one i put in was from the dealer. Now truck is starting to stall again. I hope this helps.

Things to check

Check the wiring at these locations:
4 connectors at the front and rear of the valve covers for issues. UVCWH connections.
Wiring at the transmission
Wiring at the speed sensor on the rear differential
The the CPS including the pins. RE-Seal the pins with di-electric grease.

If you havent done this yet then
Buy 2 fuel filters
Keep the old cps and the extra fuel filter for later use.
If the fuel bowl is dark and the filter is dark get back on here and post. I am working my a$$ off on this issue today.

Another wiring connection...

Check the PCM (computer)-to-harnes connection. Driver's side firewall, low and close to fender. Harness attaches to computer with one bolt, and the seal around the connector doesn't seem too robust. Conection might be loose, or dirt/water might have gotten in causing corrosion or other poor contact.

If the engine drops dead... like you turned off the key... this is something to check.
